HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY DUPPIES!

A Duppy St. Patrick's Day

It’s Paddy’s Day Duppies, and you know what that means – time to get out and enjoy a Guinness!

For most people, Guinness conjures up notions of Ireland, the home of the Aviva stadium and general home of stout drinker - indeed, Guinness was originally (and still is) brewed in Dublin!

But there’s a whole other facet to the world-famous stout that remains completely foreign to a lot of Guinness drinkers – namely it’s international heritage. That’s right – although it’s true home lies on the Irish coast, Guinness is actually brewed all over the world, most famously in Nigeria.

Guinness has therefore well and truly found itself a home all around the world – and with Diageo’s purchase of the famous Jamaican beer Red Stripe, it has since nestled in to (and thrived in) Jamaica!

There’s even a rumour flying around the Jamaican Guinness is actually stronger than Irish Guinness – don’t let yourself be fooled though, this is simply Guinness’ Foreign Extra Stout, which sits at 6.5% and makes up about 45% of the global Guinness market.

Since being in the Caribbean, Guinness has been very well adopted by the local community, which has seen the rise of Guinness-based rum cocktails!

So if you’re feeling a little bit tropical this Paddy’s Day, why not whip up a Shady Leprechaun? Recipe below ;)

  • 1 Pint Guinness
  • 1 Shot Duppy Share Aged Rum

Enjoy Duppies – and Happy St Patrick’s Day!
